The first activity for a visitor to HK is walk up (from the harbour end) the length of Nathan Road, cross over and down again. You will discover many a hidden landmark. You will also notice the endless stream of double decker buses and note down their destinations. This will enable you to travel further and see more. Enjoy Hong... More

A long straight hugely busy main road in Kowloon running down to the harbour. Great for people-watching, loads of designer shops and expensive jewellery shops, and a vast choice of restaurants of many cuisines ranging from the very expensive to the very good value local food.

I was recently scammed at the camera store on the corner of Nathan Road and Carnarvon Road. I was buying a product and was told it was "Twenty Five Eighty" which I assumed meant HK$25.80. Given that you can buy the same product on Ebay for AUD$12.95 I accepted this deal. When the credit card transaction was put through it... More

A main road on Kowloon that is busy with people, busses, stores and traffic. A good place to people watch and\or shop. Hope this helps.

If you love shopping Nathan Rd is a place to visit. Situated in Kowloon and is not far by transport from Hong Kong island. Also plenty of food joints from authentic Asian to western food.

If you like to soak in the sights, smells, tastes and sounds of bustling Hong Kong, this a good place to start. First, you are warned, that it is crowded, touristy and at times dirty. But this place is great for people watching and exploring. There is plenty to see. Also there are more than enough shops, in all price... More

We went into Great Digital Equipment on the Nathan Road. I wanted a Sony lens for my camera and was persuaded to buy a wide angle lens instead. The Sony lens was a reasonable price but the wide angle lens was extortionate. They are charging about 5 times the price for these wide angle lenses. I realised this after I... More

Too many touts for my liking, once every few minutes is okay but not every ten steps. If you want a suit, handbag, knock-off watch or pen, then have a walk up Nathan Road.

Good for walking and exploring, this place is full of people, foods, shopping. Crowded at times but an interesting and bustling place to explore. At night the neon signages comes alive and beautiful.

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
