We spent a day here instead of exploring the city. It was perfect for us to see green trees and mountains instead. If we had thought about it we would have stayed closer to the airport and Lantau. The Big Buddha was incredible to see. We also loved the wandering cows. While I love my Starbucks it seems all wrong... More

Absolutely a fabulous day out! We didn't pre book and the wait wasn't long. The trip both ways takes a while and the views are spectacular. Definetly a "Must see when in Hong Kong". Great value!

I was a really impressed by this amazing attraction and one of the longest cable cars I have been on. Would pre book tickets (which we didnt) as the line up is really long (we waited about 1 1/2 hours but luckily not too hot. We didnt book the crystal cabin as I'm afraid of heights and didnt like the... More

This was such a nice excursion. I have visited hong kong 3 times now amd have came here all 3 because of the cool cable car ride over the mountains heading into lantau. I love this place, there is a monestary there where saw monks praying. You can light incense and make a prayer..great restaurants in the little town you walk... More

It is a whole day activity to visit Big Budda and than Tai O village. Green island, a good way to walk in the fresh air.

I can't even recall what it costs, but the glass-bottom gondola was really, really cool. The views are magnificent and the trip is lengthy (20 minutes?). The buddha is pretty crowded, but the entire area is pretty sizeable so its not a crush of people. The highlight was the trip up and down (we shared a car on the way... More

Apart from stopping here to get to the big Buddha didn't see much else apart from the MTR station and outlets. More like a suburban island for locals rather than a tourist destination

I had a few hours to kill at the airport so my HK friend happily took me around the island. Regardless how hot and long the queue was, the island is beautiful. It definately eases your worries and the anger you got from the ridiculously long queue to get in to the cable car. Next time I might do hiking... More

The cable car up to Lantau island was beautiful and one of the longest I've been on. It gives you a spectacular view of the ocean and surrounding mountains. As you come up to the island you are able to see the Big Bhudda.
