Recommended by Hong Kong Tourism Board and led by true locals born and raised in this gastronomic mecca, Hong Kong Foodie Tasting Tours offers unique, small-group walking tours to help you explore Hong Kong's culinary culture. Our mission is to lead hungry souls from around the world to wander off the beaten path and taste some of Hong Kong's favorite foods. We have researched throughout the city, tried numerous eateries, talked to restaurant owners, before putting together an itinerary that features many of the locals' most-loved foods. Along our excursion, your Foodie guide will also lead you to discover some of Hong Kong's other flavors - its history, culture, architecture and neighborhoods. We will also show you some of Hong Kong's unique features and what makes our hometown so special. Our goal is for everyone to return to these neighborhoods with confidence and take advantage of the wide range of food and cultural options that our city has to offer. We are the only food tour company licensed by the Hong Kong Travel Agents Registry and we are a member of Travel Industry Council and Hong Kong Association of Travel Agents. All our Foodie guides are also licensed tour guides. We want to share with you our culinary knowledge, cultural heritage and lead you on a memorable tour of Hong Kong that will leave you with a great taste. I took the Sham Shui Po tour with tour guide Carrie. Carrie was friendly and knowledgeable of the foods we sampled as well as some local customs and history. There were 3 other folks on the tour so we enjoyed being a small group. This was important since some of the restaurants were small and crowded so it would have... More

My husband and i did a foodie tour one afternoon with Yammy. Yammy was very good but i thought the tour was just ok. We went to 6 different places in just under 4 hours. We tried all the standard foods like noodles, dumplings, pork buns etc. I was expecting to try something a little different, so perhaps i chose... More

Went on a great tour yesterday.Six different places that were all good in their own ways. The best part of the tour was spending time in an area of Hong Kong you probably didn't even know existed. It was really interesting. Yammy was a great guide and had all sorts of information that we didn't know. She was very enthusiastic... More

We recently went on the central food tour and had an excellent time. Our guide, Yammy, was very informative and pointed out many things that we would never have noticed as we walked though the city. My wife and I brought our toddler (21 months) along on the tour and she was generally fine during the tour. The paths are... More

Our family joined the Sham Shui Po tour, which was a highlight of our week in Hong Kong. Yammy, our guide, did an excellent job: she was so well-informed, fun, and attuned to each member of the group. Every stop on the tour was ideally selected for a warm welcome, delicious food, and interesting context about the lively neighborhood of... More

We did the Central Tour had had a lovely tour guide named Yammy. She was very knowledgeable about both food and culture in Hong Kong and shared very interesting information. This is a great introductory tour and offers foods that are not overly challenging and accessible for those who may not have eaten local food in Hong Kong before -... More

Yammy was our tour guide and our whole group thought she was amazing. I recommend doing this tour soon after you arrive that way you feel more confident about choosing what food to eat. This tour is more in depth than the central one. Highly recommended, you learn food culture and basic greetings, don't eat breakfast there is lots of... More

I booked this on a whim when I was looking for things to do while in HK and it did not disappoint! Yammy, our guide, was very informative, friendly, and engaging! The group size was ideal and the food was great! I was so stuffed by the end of the tour (I took some for the team by polishing off... More

Good 1. The chatty, informed and cheerful guide who clearly loved her job 2. The variety of restaurants and outlets 3. Just the right length of time 4. Access to the kitchens in some places and background information on all the shops 5. Some other cultural / historical highlights e.g. the oldest Chinese temple in Hong Kong Comment 1. The... More

Our guide, Yammy, was wonderful. She's friendly, knowledgeable, and has an infectious sense of humor. We did the 'Central' tour that included dim sum, wonton soup (or fish balls and noodles for a pescatarian), preserved fruits, egg tart, goose ( or veggies and rice) and sugar cane juice - and ended completely satisfied. Yammy not only talked about the food... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
