When you are at the Peak you can walk to here and enjoy the view too. Its not a must go but if you are up anywhere you can make your own opinion.

when you are up on the Peak you have a choice of several paths to walk along. The walk to the Lion's Pavilion is very nice and relatively quiet given the number of people up on the Peak. The view from there to Victoria Harbour is good but not as good as on the Terrace higher up.

Worth paying to go on the observation deck, it was better then the free areas. It was just that bit higher. We waited for a nice day to go and it was definitely worth it.

The peak is one of the must dos on Hong Kong. It was a little smogy the day we were there but still worth the trip.

For those who don't want to pay to go into the Observatory Deck this is a very good free spot to take pictures. It was just as busy if not more then the Observatory - possibly as you have those there who didn't pay for the observatory but also those who had come down from the observatory as well

Don't pay to view on the Sky Terrace - the view is the same from here! It is on 2 levels so if you are hot in the sun, just walk down the steps and enjoy the fantastic view in the shade

Once arriving on Victoria Peak and walking towards the footpath behind the Peak Tram Station, it will only take less than 5 minutes to reach Lion's Pavilion. From there you will have a prime overview of Hong Kong Island, Victoria Harbour and the Kowloon Peninsula. The view is breathtaking and in my humble opinion one of the finest city views... More

Now that the 'new' peak building has been completed, there is really no reason to walk to the Lion's Pavilion, the view is certainly better from the Peak lookout. When I was here in 1994, this was a great viewing spot, but has unfortunately been overtaken by time.
