Took the 10 minute boat tour in traditional fishing boat that came free with our deluxe BigBus tour tickets. It was interesting but too short and not all that interesting. Many different types of boats are docked there in the harbor and it didn't really seem like a "village" despite that we were able to spot one or two fishermen... More

This turned out to be one of our most favorite tours! Being able to see the OLD and the NEW right beside of each other was an inspiring thing! This is not a "show" put on for tourist...this is the real thing!! We simply asked our taxi driver to take us to "Aberdeen fishing village" and he dropped us off... More

Once a little fishing village , its is now a waterfront studded with highrises . Many here however still maintain the old way of life . It is surreal to see the old houseboats with fish hanging to dry aganst such a super modern skyline!

So, if you are on a tour and they ask you if you want to go on it, you are likely to be charged 60HKD per person. What do you get? Well you sit in an traditional boat (designed for tourists) and feed your way between a shed load of boats. The guy steering the boat we were on was... More

Me and my husband visited Aberdeen Fishing Village just last week. There is nothing much to see and it's more like a 15 minutes ride between boats, it's hardly a glimpse into how a fishing village operates, skip it at all costs because most likely the guide will fool you into paying an enormous amount and you won't even get... Probably one (including us) is not supposed to actually walk into the fish market, but no one says otherwise (in Hong Kong it is mandatory and wise to obey whatever sign you find, but there is no signs here prohibiting your entry); wear rain boots, as the water from the fishermen arriving here and selling their catch is knee high... On my first trip to Hong Kong, I was lucky enough to stay at Ovolo Hotel at Aberdeen Harbor. The amazing view from my hotel room, only made me wander around the area, taking in all the colors, sounds and smells. My extended two week stay, gave me plenty of time to take in the attractions like a local. Great... More

I went there with high expectations of learning a bit about the lives of fishermen but I could hardly see any activity there. What I saw was empty, rusty, damaged boats with a boat or two with some fishes here and there. Nothing much to explore. I sort of got bored

We visited the village on a Sanpan as part of our booked Viator afternoon City Coach tour. we paid 60hkd per person for a 20 Minute tour of the village. there were a few boats but not many people. it was interesting to see the traditional Hong Kong living before modernization. we passed by the jumbo floating restaurant. It was... More

Tourists boats take you out to the floating fishing village. Most villagers have been relocated to government housing but there are still a few left. The trip doesn't take long but it's interesting and nice to be on the water with cool breezes after the hustle and bustle of the city.
