Stanley is very different to other parts of Hong Kong, or completely different from what you think about Hong Kong. Stanley, located at the southern of Hong Kong island, is much more relaxed with beaches, hills and coves. You will find the western atmosphere in this small Chinese town.

We were in HK for 3 days. After 2 days of seeing the city, this was a great relaxing day at the beach. Had lunch there and shopped at the market as well. You almost feel like you're in a European seaside town. The bus...More

We caught the 973 bus from the bus terminal in Mody Road Kowloon. We were fortunate to sit in the front seats on the top deck. The bus took one hour and twenty minutes to get to Stanley, but what a journey. We first went...More

After a few days in the city, a visit to Stanley will help you relax. It's a very beautiful spot on the water and a great place to chill out for lunch and a drink. The markets are good too.

We visited Stanley Market earlier this year and had a great time we came back again. Reasonably price swimsuits, children's clothes and toys. Nice walking the stalls and seeing the different offerings. At the bay there are food cafes and restaurants. Bus 6 from the...More

Beautiful seaside town - great for a drink and to see a different side of Hong Kong. The market was quite good as well.

Apart from the huge and crowded undercover market, which is very North Asian in the myriad of little stalls, there's also plenty of places to stop and have a drink or snack along the waterfront. Crowded at weekends as the sensible Hong Kongers get away...More

I haven't tried the junk boat over there. I know there was one around Tsim Sha Tsui but I am not sure it stopped servicing or not. I regard taking the boat in Tai O is much more fun in my mind.
