The Old Supreme Court building on Jackson Rd. and Charter Rd. is one of the declared monument buildings you can see on the Central (A) route of the Central and Western Heritage Trail, which leads visitors to a handful of historical buildings and remnants of 19th and early century colonial period in HK. Built in 1900, the Old Supreme Court... More

This is one of the grandest colonial buildings in HK and is certainly something you will want to see if you are interested in architecture. It is amazing to see the contrast with the surrounding skyscrapers.

The Legislative Council of Hong Kong is one of the rare colonial buildings which remain. Located in Central, on HKG Island, it was built in 1843 at the time of Queen Victoria. There is a lovely little square in front. But today it is squeezed in between high rise buildings that make today's Hong Kong skyline.

It is one of the very few well maintained heritage building in Hong Kong. It celebrated its 100th anniversary recently. The legislature was unfortunately moved to a terrible new complex. The building will be handed over to the final court of appeal. It is closed for the time being. There will be a museum of justice in the building when... More

The Hong Kong Legislature, more commonly known locally as the Legco Building, is not an important visitor attraction in Hong Kong. History buffs and those interested in HK Heritage buildings might find it an interesting stop but its difficult to justify adding this to any visitors list of sights to see in Hong Kong unless you are here for quite... Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
