Tao Fong Shan is located on a hill in Shatin, and is a place of calm and tranquillity, mainly for Christian retreat, so I was surprised to see it listed on TripAdvisor. Many had written about the Chinese-style architecture of the buildings, so I will...More

First I have say this is not a tourist place to begin with. It is more an area of prayer and meditation. Tao Fong Shan Christian Centre (道風山基督教叢林) is situated at Tao Fong Shan, founded in 1930s by the Norwegian missionary Karl Ludvig Reichelt. The...More

Tao Fung Shan is a Christian Church in Shatin. The church was built in the early 20th century in Chinese architecture style designed by a Scandinavian architect. Interesting mix of East and West. Jesus was depicted in Chinese style wearing Chinese clothes.

It is very close to Shatin station but not noticed by most people. It takes around 30 minutes to hike up, not too bad if you are used to hiking, you would reach this special place. It is nothing like any other Christian places. It...More

This is a beautiful place in the middle of Hong Kong. It's definitely an amazing place to visit in your New Territories excursions. (Personally, I think this is much better than the Ten Thousand Buddhas which is more like a tourist amusement park). Remember to...More

Tao Fung Shan is set on a forested hill above Shatin, with beautiful views all around. It consists of a series of buildings and courtyards built in traditional Chinese style. It was set up in 1930 by a Norwegian missionary who had studied Buddhism deeply...More

Tao Fung Shan is a Christian church in Shatin Hong Kong. Its Christian construction in traditional Chinese style is quite interesting. We do not expect it is kept in such a good condition. It is a nice place for photo-taking. If the weather is fine,...More
