Unless you are in a branded shop, dont hesitate to negotiate haaard. Learn Mandarin or keep the Baidu app in your smartphone. If you are alone beware of touts who will ask if you want massage or girls for sex.

We visited Wangfujing at night, it is a very nice shopping streets with great shops and there is also this a little food market where they sell the creepiest things, of course centipedes, scorpions and snakes but also bats, seahorses and starfish among other stuff. Even if you are not eating anything is worth a look.

It's a nice street on which you can buy almost everything! Chinese small stores with souvenirs have a lot of different things almost for free.

We didn't shop here but instead went to the night food market. It was really crowded but we saw many weird and wonderful things e.g. Scorpions, beetles, various other creepy crawlers. Not for the vegetarian. We tried a few different things on sticks, pancake-y things and something we're still not sure what it was. It was fun and exciting and... More

Usual shopping street. It was quite nice to visit the department store for lots of food options. There is a touristy side street which was interesting to visit.

If have issues with crowds, avoid this place, it's absolutely wall-to-wall people and the food alleys will surprise and shock (think spiders, scorpion, grasshoppers on a stick !) However, it's exciting and colourful and a cultural experience that you may not have had.

The Wangfujing street was walking distance from our accommodation, it does have a fair bit of old character to it, however it is overrun by the usual assortment of shopping malls, high end shops that you will find in every large city like Singaport/Tokyo/NY etc. with similar elevated prices, it is easy to forget that you are in historic Beijing,... The shopping is quite good here. I found most of the clothing brands I like at the Apm mall which also has many good restaurants. Be aware, though, that it gets very crowded during weekends, so lines to fitting rooms are long and you should make reservations for restaurants. Furthermore, the night marked is fun and has lots of good... More

I doubt you would find any bargains here, but it's a good place if you need something from any brand store (for example, I ended up here because I was looking for the Pandora store), since there are multiple malls and shops right along the street. We also took a walk along the night market, which was cool (although it... More
