The wonderful wooden structure is painted on every facet with rich colours and gold. Wooden carved sections are beautiful. Many visitors - mostly Chinese, don't marr this lovely building.

After entering through the massive gate we took a left and headed up the stairs to view the Meridian Gate Jewelry Exhibit and the Afganistan artifacts on display. The views from the Gate were amazing.

All part of the forbidden city experience. Check out the size and thickness of the doors. rub the brass handles, it is said to bring you good luck

So much history with this palace and these gates. Just be there and suck it in. There are some eateries, and toilets spread through the place, and is convenient to visitors, as it is a big place to cover.
