Unfortunately I should have researched more -so really my bad. There must be reason there are no reviews for a few years. My experience with Lulu started ok, Lulu answered emails promptly, however in retrospect I realize that she didn't actually answer my questions, sort of skirted around them, I out it down to English communication. Lulu had arranged to guide me for a full day in Beijing, asked for a deposit to be paid on line. Late the email before I received an email form her that she was sending a replacement as she was busy - not cool. She should have advised in advance and given me the option. The guide that turned up was merely a babysitter, really imparted no information and did not take me to the places I thought i had pre-arranged. Her main thing was to take me to a "tea ceremony" where the lady tried to insist I buy some tea, she spent the whole time on her phone to the point where I actually asked her to get off and she was constantly checking the time. I let her go early. Perhaps Lulu is good however I give hera score of 1 because she simply did not deliver.

We booked a 2 full days tour with Lulu's.Our first day we visited Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Hutongs,Temple of Heaven. On our second day we went to the Mutianyu Great Wall - our favourite - followed by Summer Palace and Olympic stadium. For the Great Wall we took the cable car up and toboggan down which we would thoroughly recommend. Our tour guide--Lily is very knowledgeable, has excellent communication skills, and outgoing personality.Additionally, the car that we rented was very comfortable and spacious, and the driver was professional.Highly recommend using Lulu's service for your upcoming visit to Beijing.

Booking this private car via email prior to our journey saved us lots of hassle and made for a comfortable and enjoyable trip. Lulu is very quick at responding to questions by e-mail and made every change to our itinerary that I requested. We used Lulu's service to plan a 2-day tour including the Great Wall, the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the Acrobatic Show and Hutong tour by rickshaw. We had jessica as our English-speaking tour guide, as well as a Chinese-speaking driver for both days. They are on time and not in a hurry. Jessica was very informative and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Lulu’s service to anyone that is interested in guide in Beijing. All in all, very good service and an enjoyable time in Beijing! Thank you, Lulu and Jessica!

I wasnt sure if this was a single guide, Lulu who hired drivers to go with you and her or if she was in general just a broker to put people with other guides and drivers. Its both. We asked for Lulu but got someone else. I booked my tour with Lulu, making sure to reserve her and a driver for two days in Beijing 3 weeks before my trip. She confirmed and we spoke via email a few times that day. But when I arrived at my beijing hotel the evening before the tour I thought'd I'd better call to confirm. Good thing I did because she had no recollection of my reservation. She pretended to be just reconfirming my information but i could tell she was rebooking me. She booked me with someone else, Wennie. This was irritating as I had researched Lulu herself as a guide and confirmed with her to be our guide, now I was not able to research this new last minute woman. I may have chosen a different guide upon research. This new woman Wennie was nice and friendly but her English was not great. Whenever we asked questions about the sights she was unable to answer them or we couldn't understand her (and we are from Vancouver, the place with the highest number of Chinese immigrants so I am born and raised getting familiar with this culture and accent). This was not too bad though because she was so friendly and trying very hard. Another issue with this tour is they take you to sights you want to see but they also take you to factories where they must get commission to take you to. These factories have hokey little tours with a new guide then high pressure sales to get you to buy their overpriced tourist junk ie a jade factory selling statues and jewelry and a silk factory selling bedding. After the silk factory we told Wennie no more factories and she complied but it was a little awkward having to say something. It was frustrating because you get a guide to protect you from scamming locals and instead she is setting you up with them to be exploited. I believe this was not just Wennie but the company's tactic because when we complained she said "its just the business". The price makes it all worth it though - we paid around 110$ CAD a day for a driver and a guide (this is what my Dad just paid to be driven to the Great Wall and back with no guide). The convenience of having someone pick you up as you leave a place and take you to the next and a guide, even if you cant get much out of what shes saying, is worth the price. You get what you pay for with this company which in the end we were happy with. It's very convenient to have a driver on your beckon call picking you up and dropping you off at the doors who is in contact contact with the guide but don't expect much detail out of the tours themselves. (again she was very friendly just not able to understand many of our questions or say much more than her memorized facts) MAKE SURE YOU CONFIRM YOUR RESO ;)
