We booked a private tour. We took the chairlift up and my husband took the tobagon down. Fabulous experience and a must do. The only thing I want to warn is that there are many steps to get to the ticket counter at chair lift and that many more to the gondola. As much as they try to make it... More

Better than I thought, absolutely beautiful and breathtaking one of the best things I've ever done. This will suit anyone and everyone, even if you don't climb the wall just being there is spectacular, but yes I made it to the top and it was amazing.

I have been to the Badaling section of the Great Wall and I prefer this section for its peacefulness and beauty. You must walk through a small tourist area with usual hawkers, but shopping/restaurant area is quite lovely. There are coffee shops and Chinese restaurants as well as a Burger King, Subway sandwich shop and a Baskin Robbins for those... More

Wow, a great place to visit and walk the Wall. Chairlift up and toboggan down makes it more fun. Need a good level of fitness to walk up all the steps on the actual wall. Great for photos as the scenery is lovely. Well worth the effort to get there. We hired Daphne Chen tours for the day and went... More

We hired a driver for a day tour and Mutianyu was one of the sites we visited. We took a cableway up and toboggan ride down, which was very fun! We spent about an hour and a half walking through 5 watchtowers and back. A must-see attraction during your trip to Beijing!

We did the walk from Jiankou back to Mutianyu. Whilst it is tough (do not listen to the website reviews they seem to suggest a 5yr old child can do it!), it was one of the most rewarding and personally satisfying things I have done in the last few years! 11km or so or climbing, clambering, scaling walls etc. The... We were picked up at our hotel promptly on time. Susie was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable about the sites we visited. We visited the for Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and the Great Wall of China. Susie was very personable, and communicated well in English. Susie made the trip a great day for my friend and myself.
