This is a less known (which is a plus) and modern, beautiful garden that provides an escape from the city buzz. Definitely worth it if staying nearby. Theme of the park is based on a famous Romeo and Juliet-style story from the ancient Qing dynasty!!

Fairly far from any nearby metro station. It's a park reconstructed from the details out of the classic Chinese novel "Dream of the Red Chamber". The book stands as 1 of the 4 great books of Chinese literature. This has a lot meaning to the Chinese. Mannequins of the main characters stand within recreated scenes. All the tourists are Chinese;... More

Came here as part of a tour of the Forbidden City and other parts of Beijing. It is interesting, and with a guide you can understand the gardens and their purpose well. However, I definitely think it would have been better to go to other attractions in the city like the Summer Palace.

This park is laid out like the garden in the Chinese literary classic, "A Dream of Red Mansions", including many pavilions. It's a relaxing and beautiful place to visit, tucked into a very busy and crowded city. But to me the most interesting part was the Old Gentlemen's Bird Club that meets here daily to give their caged birds "the... More

Visited back in Sep-Oct 2011, this is one of the most clear places in Beijing where most of the plants and trees are) I particularly loved the aroma from lilacs, jasmin, and morning glories) Other flowers are also attractive to the naked eye.

Having read the famous novel Dream of the Red Mansion many times, I went to this garden on the second day during my Beijing trip in early November 2014. It was opened quite early in the morning, at around 7.30 a.m. Thanks to my early arrival, there was only me and two or three elder locals who were jogging around.... More

I went here with a group of my students on a field trip. It was part of their study of the classic Chinese literature for The Red Mansion. As someone who is not familiar with the novel, this was basically a nice park to walk around in. Nothing exceptional. If you are familiar with the story then maybe this is... More

This was an impulse visit because my friend had to buy medicine from a nearby hospital. I have never read the book but after seeing how excited my friend was when we saw some of the sights within the park, I really want to read the book! Even though I didn't know the literary history, the park was still beautiful... More

40rmb entrance. But a compact park to see a lot. Too much history of the remakes of the Dream of Red mansion(it's all in Chinese). Dressed up in traditional garb for 20rmb posted price, didn't have to haggle, they let us take our own pictures too. Pic was laminated. Not that easy to get to if we didn't take a... More
