We enjoyed our visit as we learnt a lot about the way Silk is made into bedding & material. We purchased a Queen sized silk filled quilt which we have loved for the past 4 years (we visited in February 2012). In fact, we will never used a wool or polyester filled quilt again. The silk quilt is the perfect... More

We wanted to go to the famous (or notorious) Silk Market or Silk Street, but our half day-service driver brought us here instead saying that he wouldn't want us to have bad experience of Beijing shopping in the Silk Street/Market. So as we came to this building, we found out that this is sort of probably official "factory" and "shop"... More

The silk factory cum museum is a place to visit. We were treated to a tour of the factory and shown how silk is made. It was an amazing experience and wondered why we don't have a silk factory and if there is that I am not just aware of...well...it is not known. The museum have different types of silk... More

First off I'll start by saying I was forced to put a date within the last year for this review. However I actually visited in April 2012. During the time between I was unable to locate the proper location for review purposes. So with that said allow me to review now after the fact. This location is not a museum... More

Taken here on a tour, not sure what we were getting in to. But it is a good demonstration of how silk is made. And then they would like to sell blankets and so on, prices are good although at times can be a bit high pressure. Just avoid the high pressure and enjoy yourself and worth a visit, very... More

We were brought here by our tour guide and wasted 5 hours listening to their big mouths. They wouldn't let us leave until everybody bought some silk. They slowly closed the doors as everyone was occupied and this gave me a bad feeling. The tour group after us said that they were completely locked in after everyone refused to buy... More

A wonderful experience . We were delighted. Showed you every thing from silk worm to finished goodies . How can such a tiny thin silt thread end up being woven. It shows you all. Not woven but spun silk is made into dooners and pillows. We all bought them as not so very expensive.

Some people are writing that this is a scam but I disagree. We were taken to the Silk Factory as part of a tour of Beijing (which before our tour, the booking person asked if we would like to stop in a few shopping stores and I wanted to and told her yes). We enjoyed the factory part, where you... More

We were brought into this place by our tour guide. They explained how silk were made.. After that, they brought us a to a room to do a presentation. After that, they pressured us to buy their blankets. As our tour group consist of only 10 people, none of us are interested. It seem that the tour guide ganged up... More
