Would really recommend this if you want to know more about the size/structure of Beijing. The models are great and really bring the city to life. A lot of the information is in English but not all. We had great fun looking for places we...More

A very interesting exhibition that illustrates the Beijing development and urban structure till today . Recommended at the beginning of your visit . An astonishing 3 D model of the city . Also a multimedia 10 minutes film with the history of Beijing.

If you're even moderately interested in this sort of thing, it's worth a trip. The giant model/map of Beijing is astounding, but other exhibits should not be overlooked - it is fascinating to see how the city has grown and changed, especially in the last...More

This exhibition featured a whole floor dedicated to a city model of Beijing. It has to be seen to be believed. The whole exhibition gave you an insight into Chinese city planning, conservation of heritage, and modern building techniques. This is just not for architects...More

Very few people, let alone few Westerners visit. Enormous map of Beijing is the highlight, but the exhibits on the building industry are very informative. Museum is free.

Interesting displays and movies although you have to time it to see the main 3D movie as it isn't shown between 11:30 and 2:30. The scale model is really neat- we could see where our accommodation is in relation to all the key sights. Costs...More

I am an urban planner so when a guide book briefly mentioned this attraction, I felt compelled to seek it out. It was a quiet place with amazing models of Beijing. Best of all no lines and great air conditioning. It does a great job...More

I'm surprised at some of the bad reviews. This is about city planning so don't expect school type exhibits. See this before you go to anything else in Beijing. There is a great bronze half globe in the entrance showing Beijing city, the 6 ring...More
