Ol Kinyei Conservancy is 18,700 acres of wilderness which belongs to a Maasai community who leased it to Gamewatchers Safaris and Porini Camps for it to be set aside for the purposes of wildlife conservation. Ol Kinyei Conservancy is home to only one permanent camp, the Porini Mara Camp which accommodates a maximum of only 12 guests at any given time - making this not only an exclusive experience but one that respects the principles of eco-tourism. Located within the Serengeti-Mara eco-system, Ol Kinyei is renowned for its unspoilt and breathtaking scenery with diverse terrain offering on one hand open savannah plains and rolling hills on the other.

So. Many. Cats. It was December, so Mara River was very dry and dusty. We say tons of hippos, elephants and alligators, but no cats. However...at Ol Kinyei, we were able to get into the bushes, and saw several large prides of lions, cheetahs hunting, and had a leopard hunting right outside our tent one night. Awesome stuff.

Nothing could prepare us for the amazing experiences that we had here from wildlife encounters - and there were many, to the personal interaction we had with the Maasai people who staffed the Gamewatchers Adventure Camp where we stayed. This was our first visit and will certainly not be our last. We intend to revisit in 2018.

Porini Mara Camp is small, just six comfortable tents, great guides, good food and attentive staff. Wildlife in the area is plentiful, and at the time we were there, many wildebeest had given birth. Lots of young animals around, including lions.

This was my second time visiting this conservancy. As before it did not disappoint. It has a great variety or terrain and the wildlife is very diverse. The cats were difficult to find this year but we were treated to an evening sundowner with a Lioness and her 3 cubs. Simply incredible. The conservancy is definitely worth a visit!

This was my second visit to Ol'Kinyei, and it was as good if not better than my first. The mara was very dry and desperately in need of rain - which did come during my stay, to much relief all around. I had some excellent cheetah, lion and elephant sightings - all very relaxed and healthy. The guides and staff... More

As often said before, conservancies are today the reason why the Masai Mara thrives, inspite of insanely large bed numbers. Privacy and gameviewing on conservancies is by and large better, due to smaller guest numbers.

The opportunity to visit the conservancies is not to be missed. There is a high concentration of wildlife, great diversity, the opportunity to go off road, and very little other traffic.

If you want your safari to be perfect go to a conservancy. Ol Kinyei conservancy was the second conservancy we visited in Africa after Selenkay and we absolutely fell in love. You can follow the wildlife off road and actually be the only car around which I think is a great advantage compare go the parks. There is so much... More

I try and go to Ol Kinyei whenever I am in Kenya. Only Porini vehicles can drive in this game rich area and Porini Mara is my favorite camp - The bush camp and the adventure camp are great also and the views from the Bush camp are amazing. Game walks across the plains are a great experience

What an awe inspiring visit we had! Photos can't do this place justice - needs to be seen to be believed. Gamewatchers yet again treated us like gold and we saw the real natural beauty of a place known to stamp in your mind - BOOK IT!! :))
