I loved the tour from start to finish. We started the tour with sitting under the trees and getting history about Karen and the property. We then took a tour of the house and the grounds. It is really beautiful.

The movie Out of Africa makes this property seem much more grand. I did the entire tour in about 20 minutes, and that was because I was taking my time. They didn't have change for me at the beginning of the tour, and asked me to come back when I was done. When I came back, she seemed irritated that... More

A guide take you through the museum and tell you about the different rooms and the history related to the things on display. The museum also has a nice garden. The guided tour is nice and informative and provide context to what otherwise would have been remembered as a rather limited museum.

Very interesting place to visit. If you are in Nairobi I wouldn't miss it. There is a lot to learn and see at this wonderful house and museum. Karen Blixen was an amazing contributor to the African people and you will learn a lot about her by visiting her home.

Unless you love 'out of africa' take a pass. Although walking through the old house and hearing the story is nice, its nothing special.

You are provided with an informative guided visit by volunteers who know a lot about the history of the families and the house. We found it very interesting despite that we knew little about Karen prior to the visit. The setting is lovely and the house itself is interesting to see as it is well set out giving an idea... Unpaid tourism students interns give free tours. So we tipped well. But it was worth it. Very thorough and interesting. Karen Blixen was an amazing woman. It's worth it just to see the art work - but there is so much more!

We had not read "Out of Africa" but like many Americans had seen the movie. The tour of the house and grounds was very informative. It is a bit of trek from central Nairobi but worth it.
