Impressive Building but Closed to the Public

The Mausoleum of Aga Khan sits on a hilltop on the West Bank of the Nile River across from Aswan. It’s an impressive looking building but it’s closed to the public.

The mausoleum is built in the style of the Fatimid tombs in Cairo.[1] It is built of pink... More

We were cruising by boat on the Nile river and it was a pleasant surprise to see a Mausoleum in the desert on the bank of river Nile! A simplistic monument in a stark background. The Mausoleum of the Late Aga Khan.

It's a private place, Old historical place, you can not visit but it's very beautiful from the outside. The Place is on a cliff, and the story behind it is very interesting,

It seems that wherever you go along the nile in Aswan you see this majestic Mausoleum on the cliffs as a reminder of what he did for the people in the region!

This is a private property that you cannot visit. We saw it from a distance. It brings charm to Aswan. Its history is very nice.
