Even a catholic shrine is present, evidence that the Temple was once used by Roman Catholics. Amazingly enough, the Temple was moved... More

The temple was submerged once the first Aswan Dam was built in early 1900's, and had to be moved to higher ground. has very impressive carvings in hieroglyphics depicting Pharaoes.

This was my favorite temple! Beautiful location- it was moved before being flooded by the new high dam. Many unique carvings, only "dragons" I've seen in 12 days in Egypt! Also note god Bes - a harpist and party guy!
