At each Philae Sound and Light show, the Egyptian gods and goddesses are, like Osiris, resurrected before our eyes to tell us their life stories. What would Isis say today if she learned that her temple was allowed to sit in water for many years? She would not be happy with this, but she would be proud to know that, like her husband Osiris, Philae was reborn so that new visitors can see the glory of Philae year after year. ...

We visited the temple in the day time yesterday and loved it and so went back for the Sound and Light show tonight. We sat waiting with 3 other people but no one else turned up so we had to purchase 2 extra tickets between us, as 7 is the minimum number required for the show to go ahead. We... More

Went hoping to catch show BUT You cannot count on it happening because they decide very late in day if happening and guide did not even get straight story from in charge so don't count on it. Plus you would have to pay double boat fare if it happens.

I love this show, I really love it, the temple at night is totally different than the day visit, you enjoy the wealthy information during the show about the gods Isis and Osiris and their legend, together with all what you want to know about the history of the temple that you find magnificently lit with different colours at night,... We were taken by mini bus to the departing pier where we had to wait for 20 minutes before departing by boat. The sunset view was very good. On arrival it was dusk and only had to wait for 15 minutes for the English show to start. We had to stand for the first 20 minutes then moved on into... More

The English version was the first show of the night and was very quiet in terms of visitor numbers. You get a totally different perspective of the temple at night, the way the reliefs are lit with coloured lights and the audio give the story of Isis and Osiris which brings the temple to life.

A good sound and light show. Especially now that there are not too many people going. So it is easy to get there and get a good seat. Bring a light jacket if you go from Oct-Mar because it gets a little cool at night and the wind can whip through.

You reach there by a short boa ride. The sound and light show is well done and takes you along the different parts of the temple. The first two or three sessions are walking and then you sit down in an amphitheater in the open for the last session.

A little melodramatic at times, still wonderful to visit Philae at night with the atmospheric lighting and a boat ride under the stars
