Tahreer is the place where modern Egyptian history has taken place. It is worth seeing ... if not too crowded or jammed by cars during daylight. Better come in the evening.

This vast open space, very close to the Egyptian Antiquities museum, was the site of huge demonstrations during the political upheavals of 2011 through 2013.
