Really nice park with lots of green and nice walks, good restaurant

I was invited here by friends not knowing what to expect in Cairo. We found a really nice quiet place to walk and relax.

stay away from this restaurant, we had very bad experience with the food. My friend ordered shish kabab plate and the chicken pieces were so hard couldn't chew a piece. the food looked as if it was heated and has been sitting in their kitchen for few days. our waiter told the manager who was standing right across from the... It's my favorite spot in Egypt, we do not have much green area around, so that place is perfect place to go far away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

A public park with a great view over old Cairo and the Citadel and with some nice restaurants offering Egyptian cuisine. It should be avoided in public holidays and week-ends since it gets very crowded. Best time to visit is winter and autumn when the weather is not too hot and spring nights are very romantic.

Happened to be there on a weekend to spend some quiet time and found it too crowded with loads of activity. The garden as such is well maintained and a quick stop between the cathedral and Khan al Khalili.

Al-Azhar park is an oasis of lush green and water in the desert that is Cairo. The historical aspects with the walls are somewhat underplayed but the gardens themselves are beautiful. Staff do a great job on tending the gardens, maintaining the water features and keeping the grounds clean in spite of Cairenes best efforts to leave litter on the... More

This beautiful park is named after the oldest university in the world - Older than Oxford. The Mosque of Al Azhar is undergoing renovation.

Beautiful landscaped gardens for strolling & viewing Islamic Cairo. Views of the Citadel & Mohammad Ali Mosque. Three restaurants with beautiful views. Families bring picnics during the day. I hope it remains clean & inspires people to care for their surroundings. Built by the Aga Khan Fountain on a space of dilapidated buildings & garbage. Knowing what the space was... More
