Very important exhibits! The whole history of ancient Egypt in this museum! Not a so much museological display (old labels etc) . Don't miss the room with the mummies; it worths the extra money! It is better to be prepared (to have a book about history of Egypt or a museum guide).

We could go back over and over again. It's really full but we loved that aspect. Thankfully, a new museum is being built. You can go without a tour guide and learn a lot just by reading but I overheard some tour guides who provided information not easily found in guide books so I'd consider using a guide the next... wow, where to start. each segment of the museum needs a ticket....for starters. Most of the segments have "no photos" which is enforced. I'm also in awe of the the artifacts/mummies/carvings/furniture that was displayed. Apparently some of the exhibits are being transferred over to the new museum, but I did see what I wanted to. Do research first and then... More

Amazing place, so many artifacts you need days not hours to look at everything carefully. Pay the extra to take your camera and see the royal mummies.

Before going to the Egyptian Museum we had heard that the collection was cluttered and haphazard. It was- but there was so much to see and experience that it was worth walking around a bit to find the items we wanted to see. The King Tut exhibit is fantastic but crowded, so it's best to get to the museum early... More

I just have to say, this has been a dream come true for me. And when I saw the golden mask of king Tutankamum, I was struck with the ancient wonder that I had tears in my eyes. And other beautiful amazing items which I saw many times in different documentation tv were just mind blowing.
