My guide offered a stop here as a "museum" but it is a shop with a brief demonstration of how papyrus plants become paper. However the artwork is much better quality (and expensive) than I saw elsewhere in Cairo. Do bargain hard and ignore the price tags, the staff are helpful but skilled negotiators. Good for a special momento.

Okay so I know the deal. Tour groups go to places like these all over the world. The key is to know the prices of the items you look at before you buy. The artwork is unique so take your time if you plan to buy and of course you can compare items in the store or say no. My... More

I was extremely pleased with Private Tour arranged Mr. Mohamed Hussien, Tour Operator of 5 Continents Travel. Mr. Hussien came to Cairo Airport as soon as I landed and took care of my Visa arrangement and Customs clearance and dropped me at Barcelo Pyramids Hotel. Next day morning he came with a Mini Van and driver and introduced me to... More

The staff were very kind and informational. Abraham was our tour guide. He showed us how the paper was made and gave history about making this one of a kind paper; as well as giving detailed history about any painting found in the building. When it came to selling items to us we were given space and time to think.... More

They might bring you here as part of a tour group so they are all geared up for that . You can buy cheaper anywhere else . The sales people are friendly , super friendly and tricky . I had to stop a couple of my friends being taken for a ride at this store . I believe the owner... More

Visited the store a few months back and have been trying to get my money back after realising they have charge me 2200 Egyptian pounds, rather than 220. The salesman was far too gleeful for this to have been a mistake, on reflection. I believe he knew exactly what he was doing. I won't trust these guys to give you... More

By the time we went to Cairo I was getting better at saying 'no' when people tried to flog me stuff, but I decided to have a barter to try and pick up some souvenier gifts here. I did good! I ended up getting some bargains and it was a lot of fun. Spent £6 and ended up with items... More

Dropped by the Three Pyramids Bazaar on our day trip to see the pyramids. Lovely helpful staff, good info about how papyrus is made. Huge selection of paintings at good prices. We ended up buying 4! One was a HUGE 1.7 metre long papyrus of the final judgement. Staff rolled it plus the 4 others up in a tube and... More
