Interesting remains of a historic fort with a long history inadvertently destroyed by gunpowder accident The fortress is a landmark perched on a cliff top that can be seen from most of Tbilisi. It is in ruins but worth seeing because of its spectacular location and views. At night time it is floodlit Easiest way to get there is by... More

you have to climb hard to get there (and when its rainy this is not such a pleasure experience at all). it is better to visit funicular and enjoy far better view.

We took Arial Tramway to reach top and after visiting Mother of Georgia Statue climb down to Narikala Fortress...The weather was awesome and very few people out there. Good location to capture city views.

If you have the time and you don't have fear of heights, go see this Fortress as it gives a good view of the old Tbilisi town .

The fortress doesn't have much information provided on it. But the views from there a quite nice. Worth it on a sunny day.

We were the only ones in the fortress and climbed and explored for hours. The views are amazing, but make sure you research the history ahead of time - it is not a tourist trap with signs everywhere.
