This is the best and quickest way to get up to see the Narikala fortress. The tram is inexpensive, but you need to check the timings before you go there, as the tram operates at certain hours. Make sure to keep the camera ready, as...More

We went in the afternoon (around 2.30pm) and had to queue for half an hour. It was a lovely 2 or 3 minute ride but not worth the wait (we would definitely have got to the other station more quickly if we had walked).

The aerial tramway has been completely refurbished and is definitely well worth the price of a ticket. The carriages are new, automated, air-conditioned, spacious and modern; comfortably seating 6 people for a 2 minute ride up or down and have large windows allowing people to...More

You buy a ticket and upload money onto it, if like us you only want to use it one way (up) and walk down ask to refund the card at the top, takes 5 seconds.

I made the big mistake of walking uphill in the midday heat to the Nariqala Fortress and catching the Tramway downhill. Fantastic views at the top. There are pleasant walks at the bottom.

The ride itself is a minute or two, however the line to the ticket booth can vary. It took me 15-20 minutes on line. If you have a metro card loaded with money, I believe you can skip the line. The hours of operation are... More
