It is impossible to ignore this Pagoda; it is in the middle of a busy traffic circle and the Pagoda is very prominent. We stopped by and stepped in to this while we wetre on our way to St.Mary's Catheral; the Cathedral is just a block away/10 minutes walk. Inside the Sule Pagoda, it was a calm ambiance. Worth covering... More

The Sule pagoda is beautiful. It is a wonderful site to learn firsthand about Buddhism. There is easy access. The gold structure is impressive but not intimidating. There is a constant flow of visitors.

This was by far the most interesting pagodas in Yangon. It is the centre of Yangon. Crossing from the memorial side can be a bit daunting but locals are loath to run over tourists.

If you want to see the three best pagodas in Yangon, add this one to the list. It is on a circle in the middle of very busy traffic but once inside it is calm and nice. Lots of places to take photos. The only funny thing was that I was required to make a "donation" in order to get... More

Maybe I have been to too many pagodas. This one is interesting as far as it goes but not outstanding.

A small pagoda on a small, dirty intersection in the middle of a busy road. Wow. Very useful to find your way around Yangon though.

During our stay in Yangon Sule Pagoda was under construction, the outside was covered with mats. Viewed from a distance it is very beautiful and a useful landmark for finding your way around Yangon downtown. Also, all taxi drivers know it which is very helpful. Take care when crossing the road and be aware of scammers pretending they are monks,... More

This is in the middle of downtown, close to other attractions. We did Shwedagon and thought nothing could top that - Sule doesn't, but it holds its own with unique monuments and areas of worship and is well worth the visit. The refreshing wipes they give you on entry is a nice touch.
