As far as old houses go, the house itself was a little underwhelming compared to other homes you can tour from that time period. That is not to take away from the work that was done restoring it and furnishing it as it would have been when Amelia lived there. But the purpose of being there is not just to... More

This home has a lot of history. It is a beautiful little home where Amelia Earhart grew up. $6 a person for adults was a fair price for admission. The staff are very nice and very helpful.

Spring Break and my friend and I have been trying to visit some local places that we haven't seen before. Today's destination was Amelia Earhart's childhood home. This house is truly amazing. It overlooks the Missouri River and you feel like you are transported back in time the minute you pull up. It is so peaceful and so tranquil on... More

Excellent self-guided tour of the two-story home after an initial staff intro and helps. The house and contents are period authentic. We were told that Amelia's sister was in her 90s and visited before the dedication and validated the house looked like it did originally. Many wonderful artifacts as well as a lot of information spread throughout the home about... More

I took these pictures from outside the house. Looking up the river and down the river and the plaque outside the home.

We visited the day after Thanksgiving, so it was technically closed, but one if the employees happened to pull up shortly before we did and offered to let us look for a moment. It was wonderful. :)

It was very interesting to visit the Earhart home knowing that such an aviation icon had been born there. We found the displays to be well done.

We headed to Atchison on our road trip of the mid-West USA to visit the town and this museum. Although it was 'just' a house where she was born and spent her childhood, there was alot of items to read and see. History. In the aviation world, she was a first, at a time when the world was male dominated.

Well kept birthplace museum with nice shop, beautiful view and good exhibits. The garage Amelia 'flew' off of is still there.
