This is my favorite museum in Asunción. It’s always worth a visit for both its permanent collection or for a temporary exhibition.

Ever since it was inaugurated, my wife and myself visit the Museum with friends, specially those coming from overseas. It is small and easy to see all exhibits within one hour. The combination of indian art, jesuit and franciscan colonial art (particularly interesting are the...More

The museum is tucked away in a residential area, and doesn't look like much from the outside. But inside is a fantastic array of well displayed art and historical artifacts. This is a fascinating museum with stimulating artworks and interesting insights into historical Paraguayan and...More

Privately funded for the construction this is clearly the most extensive collection of art, design, and cultural artifacts in the country. We were delighted to find ceramics made by a local artist we had visited and seen her at work.

Good place to spend 1 to 2 hrs, but could be more organized, have a defined route to follow and more staff to help visitors.

If you manage to get there (it's a bit tricky), Museo del Barro is the best museum in Asuncion, and definidely deserves your visit. It's a new exhibition complex including different collections under a single roof, plus special exhibition space, and a shop. The permanent...More

Fairly new museum featuring local pottery and paintings, both collected from the indigenous tribes and modern pieces inspired by them. Not much signage, and only in Spanish. Free.
