This small museum is unfortunately located in the Plaza Armas/Plaza Indepencia area and thus forms part of the vast refugee/homeless encampment that now dominates Asuncion. There are armed soldiers and police everywhere, which is designed correctly to put you off visiting. However, if you can...More

Fine building om the Plaza de Independencia and entrance is free. The history of immigration is well worth the visit. However if you do not understand Spanish you will need to go with a guide.

This is a great museum inside the Cabildo. There is a section on traditional Indian handicrafts along with some really good artworks. When I went there were some photographs being exhibited I think about a revolution in Uruguay. Upstairs on the first floor there is...More

It's the big Pink building by the plaza de armas, NOT the address currently listed on tripadvisor. The museum is small and has some decent exhibitions. I found the upstairs and its history about immigration very interesting. From the upstairs you get a nice view...More

The price of entry is free and you can spend a little over an hour here. On the top floor is a legislative room that is open to the public to see the visit, cool to see.

After visiting the Museo del Barro, the Museo del Cabildo was a little disappointing. There were small displays of indigenous artifacts and religious art as well as political and Paraguayan movie artifacts. The former senate chamber was interesting and there was a special exhibit of...More

The former legislative building accommodates this museum which covers different aspects of Paraguayan history and some of its important characters. On the ground floor you'll find Asunción's geographical point zero milestone. The view from the upper floor towards the river is very interesting.
