I was here last year I hope something has changed. They had little cages and lots of space around which is sad, some of the animal look really hungry.

The zoo is within minutes from the main Georgetown area so it's easily accessbile for visitors who are staying in that area like we were. A wide variety of super cute animals, petting zoo and cheap rates. Loved it!!!

The animals cages were very dirty and the zoo was not maintained properly. I'm visiting after 40years so you can imagine my surprise, garbage in cages dirty water for the bird and surrounding very poorly kept.

Needs some tender loving care. It's free and pleasant area to walk around and visit grave sites of prominent Guyanese leaders since independence.
