We were from Canada and England and all drink El Dorado and were really anticipating this part of our trip and especially to show our children what one of Guyana's largest export brands is about. We have been on tours of other distilleries throughout the...More

As other reviewers have said, book this yourself - the tour costs $3000GY and a taxi there and back is easy to arrange. Interesting tour and a knowledgeable guide Patrick

Yes, they really do use ancient wooden vats. Learning all about how rum happens was fascinating and the tasting at the end was quite enlightening.
