At the end of the Indo Chinese and American adventures into SE Asia, a large group of Hmong were relocated to French Guyana, and settled in this rather attractive village. A 2 hour drive from Kourou through some of the most beautiful country side. The drive was just as nice as the trip. Not very close to the capital, this small village is famous for the small market during the weekend. Mostly asian food and a lot of different things to taste, but also in Cayenne you can find something similar and bigger!

This village is not worth the drive. It is a Hmong community which is all very well but the fruit and veg can be bought just as well in Cayenne and the artifacts are overpriced and poor quality. If you have been to Hmong community in Vietnam you can see the difference. I should qualify my review by saying that... More
