February 2017 the pictures on display mediocre but previous visits, some years ago, well worth it. Mamani Mamani pictures outstanding but, on this visit, only a couple of cards of his work on sale.

Hans Hoffman and his art were my favorite but with broken windows, drafty damp halls I worry for any artwork displayed their over a long period of time. La Paz seems not to prioritize its art scene with funding.

Thought it was going to be a bit of a disappointment based on ground floor where the works are for sale but upstairs 2 levels have a bit of the wow factor. Best museum in la Paz imho.

This museum, in fact a relatively wild private collection, is different from any modern art museum we had seen anywhere in the world. It is more of a curiosity cabinet, but worth to see, for unterstanding Latin American Art, and for experiencing an old villa...More

I stumbled upon this art museum by accident. But I'm glad I did! They have many different artists but I especially loved the local artists. You can easily spend 2 hours here. But can finish it a lot quicker. Also this isn't a "fancy pants"...More

Very small museeum in a restored colonial building on the main street in La Paz. Not much of great interest in terms of modern art. Ok for a short visit if you are in the area but wouldn't make a special trip.

Pleasantly surprised. From the outside it appears as if it is a very small museum but the walls are jam packed with art and there are so many twists and turns in the museum that it actually ends up taking a decent amount of time...More
