We had a Muslim friend take us through the mosque and show us a few of their religious practices which made the trip a lot more informative. It is well worth the trip without the guide though as the building is an amazing piece of architecture and beautiful both inside and out.

We visited the mosque at night during October. The lights are coloured according to the phase of the moon and on our night the lights were blue. Take your time to wander around looking closely at all the intricate detail, the artwork, the carpet in the great hall, the lighting - it's all just gorgeous.

Breathtaking. My first visit to a mosque and I have now been spoilt forevermore. The scale and beauty of this place of worship will stay with me always. We visited late afternoon to try and capture both day & night perspectives and we were not disappointed with either offering. It was almost like two different locations, the bright sunshine reflecting... More

not a single guest of mine would have missed this, and they only priase this heavenly place for the rest of their lives. Has a very positive energy inside. The mersmerising architecture and the one piece carpet that was handmade by 200 people for 14 years is simply amazing. I dont have a single picture here which wasnt praised. Do... More

We took the free shuttle from the Premier Inn at the airport where we stayed. The mosque was beautiful. Make sure you dress conservativly but be prepared to be asked to cover up even if you do. They provide abayas for women upon arrival (i had a full length skirt and 3/4 top and still needed one). Bring your own... More

If you are in Abu Dhabi and didn't pay a visit to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, then you never were here. A masterpiece of architecture with details in every inch of it. You have to really look all around and admire the symmetry, the uniqueness, the size and the peacefulness. Make sure you pack long clothes, or head to... More

Well worth going to see! This is a beautiful building inside and out, which reminded me of the Taj Mahal. They are very strict with the dress code.... I had long linen trousers, t-shirt and long sleeved linen shirt on but they still made me wear long robe. Definitely go for the free tour as you see things you otherwise... More
