A quiet spot, 20KM off the main road, this picnic location has some breathtaking views. There's a simple restaurant, several park benches, and toilets. It's possible to walk over the top of the dam for a part of the distance and get views of the valleys below. Excellent choice for a weekend lunch picnic.

From the highway a 19 km Drive through nice views. The road is new and very good. Up at the sattle damvwe stopped. There were no people just us. After that we drove up. Green Picknick location with a beautiful view. In the visitor center we saw a video that they took in 2010. The dam was just ready and during a cyclon the lake was filled completely. The staff there told us about that time. They were very nice. Thank you for that!

we decided to visit this place just on the spur of the moment. no advance planning we left around 1530 from Muscat the drive was beautiful with mountains all around us and clear motorable road. the place is heavenly reached around 1700 hours after a 90-minute drive. there were only a few persons at that time say 4 or 5. the place has a picnic spot where one can sit and enjoy there is a small restaurant where one can have snacks just as we were about to leave around 1830 hours( it was getting dark) we saw some tourists who arrived in a bus wonder what they were able to see in the dark even though the place is open till 2200 hours. the drive back was easy except for a few km as it was pitch dark and a bit scary, once we hit the high way it was okay. suggest starting early to avoid this but then you would miss out on beautiful sunset.

Wadi Dayqah Dam is an excellent location to spend time with your family and friends. The park around dam is very clean and has many sitting area. There is a cafeteria but should noor tkt Rely on it as most of the items on menu is either exhausted or not available. View is excellent on both sides of the dam. You can combine wadi Dayqah, Bimmah sink hole and wadi Arbaeen in one day of you start early and are on a short itinerary in Muscat.

I would say excellent if i visit in winter or spring. Except the temperature everything was good. Unfortunately map guided us through an off road through which we had a good view of mountains, greeneries, date farms and small streams. When we reached dam it was crowded since it was a long weekend. They view from top was excellent. I will plan to visit again in winter.
