A must see when you are strolling around Beirut. We went at night. It was a bit spooky and quiet but gave us the opportunity for interesting photos

This historic statue constructed to commemorate the martyrs executed under Ottoman rule, is now located in a busy square right in the heart of the city. Since there is construction activity going on in the area, the approach is difficult. The area is not properly...More

We were really sorry to see the statues with war signs. I don't know why a man wants to shoot the statue. Why? Why does a man want to hurt the symbol of peace , humanity and equility?

A place which hosts a great architectural monument in the form of a very statue in memory of the Lebanese martyrs . The surrounding area is not good

Interesting to see this formerly important square in Beirut but not much to see now other than the bullet riddled statue. Not a very pretty area of the city but a short distance away are some beautiful churches and a mosque worth seeing.

Located in the heart of the Martyr's Square. Surely you won't miss it if you are within the neighborhood. ( close to Petit Serail and Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque)

great to visit this important monument. You can read about it before you go because there is no signage around it. Also interesting to see all the new fancy development right around it.

It has bullet holes which is cool, but the area is pretty dilapidated and would benefit from a descriptive plaque.

This square used to be the beating heart of Beirut but only nostalgia can explain it is recommended on this site. The statue is interesting but the surroundings are not

somewhat classic - except for the bullet holes - by itself not really worth the trip but some excellent architecture in the area -
