Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When you say souks you will think for old souks that Beirut had before.. It's now only for new brands and not in relation with the old majestic Beirut..So sad

It is empty.. nothing to do or see.. most shops are closed, except for the luxury shops, but these are next to the souk. Waste of time!

No more than a handful of shops open, there were also a handful of shops closed but most shops boarded up and empty. Complete waste of time and a taxi fare.

The market is not really organized as an old market as lots of shops are for locals to do groceries and home shopping
It is suffocating in summer as the scents of meats are strong
Not like other old markets in turkey or morocco

I visit Beirut Souks frequently. I have noticed it becoming quieter as people are staying away due to security concerns. I find it safe. Although it is not a traditional souk, it has a good range of shops, restaurants, and cinemas. There is ample parking, and the souk is convenient for downtown and Zaituny Bay. I recommend Antoine: an excellent bookshop. The Saturday market is always worth a visit. To eat, I go for Casper and Gambini.
