Spent about two hours roaming the halls of a great museum. Lovely setting and impressive collection. I would recommend to stop in, well worth the time and modest price for entry.

About to celebrate its 75th Anniversary, the Beirut National Museum not only contains history but has literally lived through it. The museum was almost destroyed during the country’s civil war and literally rebuilt over the course of several years in the 1990’s. I visited here at the end of my week in the country after visiting the main archeological sites... More

The museum is a prime example of all that is required: well filled with exhibits, beautifully presented with richly sourced information and multilingual staff on hand for any queries. The exhibits themselves are pieced together bit by bit alongside the texts describing the visual history and explaining the information of the time. This leads to a very pleasant and easy... More

I should preface this by saying that i'm not a big museum fan anyway and it held my attention because of the mummies downstairs. Why they felt the need to put wigs on them, I have no idea but I like the layout of the museum and it was an interesting visit. Someone I was with said you need 3... More

Manageable size and a great variety of artifacts from throughout Lebanon's history. Wonderful backstory of protecting cultural heritage during the civil war. Don't miss the basement exhibits, which are also very well done!

I usually don't do museums but this one was beautiful and very interesting. I learned quite a bit and the pieces were amazing. I recommend it.

It's a small museum by international standards but is one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of entering. Incredible display of artefacts.

An Amazing collection of Greek and Roman and Iron age archeological; finds from Lebanon. The newly opened basement with the restored Roman tomb and the 25+ Sarcophagus is incredible. This was totally unexpected and amazing. I found it more complete and informative than the Metropolitan Museum in New York as a comparison!

This is one of the most beautiful and well managed museums I have seen in recent times. This is a heaven for history lovers. Artifacts from all over Lebanon have been preserved well. Keep about 2 hours to see the full museum. The museum has a basement, ground and first floor.
