A traditional "shopping mall" catering mainly to food, perfume and clothing, but it is possible to find almost anything in the numerous winding by-lanes inside this huge market. Perfect for strolling amongst the crowds, window shopping or catching up with the many arts/musical events that are held in the market center place most evenings.

I loved the sights and smells of the Souk and the food was very tasty. Our group ate some of the best food that I've ever had and then walked around to the various shops. I love the oils and spices. We didn't have a lot of time, I recommend going when you can leisurely visit the shops and not... More

I love this place and try to visit atleast 3 times a month on every Friday. This place gives a very awesome feeling for an expat. There a lot of varities of shops, you can shop for Burqas, shoes, bags, children clothing. It serves different cuisine, Arabic food been the famous one. They have areas serving Arabic food like kebabs... More

I was brought here by a friend who is a local on a Thursday night. Fantastic experience great variety of shops with gold, perfume, all kinds of food and also clothing. It covers a number of blocks and is close to the Grand mosque. Well worth the visit

I was at Mubarakiyah shopping area, the prices were high compared with shops around the country, the public services like toilets are not suitable for use due to hygiene levels they are old and stingy. Don't buy from there, you will find the same item in anywhere else in half price.

This is a 'real' souk. While partially restored from its roots in the past it both feels authentic and far from a 'tourist trap' is a place where real locals (Kuwaitis and residents), do their shopping, eat and meet. There is a meat market, a fish market, a fruit and vegetable market and shops with odds and ends as well... More

Great place to roam and experience the look and feel of an old souk in the middle of the city and experience the local culture. While the carpet market, and sweet shops are excellent, make sure you leave enough time you sit at one of the many outdoor restaurants and have a full lunch. My suggestions are Kababs, Hummous, Grapeleaves,... More
