Azadi tower has been created nearly 5 decades ago. Before building Milad tower it was the capital's symbol. Many of the people take a picture with the tower when they first come to Tehran.

Take time to get across and check before if the tower is open to public. We have been disappointed on arrival as it was closed. The symbolic is super and on the groundfloor there was a photo exhibition.

You can get out and walk around and under and through this arch. Magnificent piece of civil engineering and it can be seen from quite far away.
