Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Interesting spot. The well itself was the first to discover oil in Bahrain but the entire area is still actively in operation after more than 90 years.

The museum was closed but it was interesting to learn that the first discovery well, No. 1, struck oil in 1932.

Went on a day trip. The first oil well doesn't have much to see, a bit of pipe. The museuem wasn't open. Apprantly it is by appointment only and very rarely opens. Bit of a shame.

This museum in the middle of Bahrain is difficult to locate but well worth the effort...no pun intended!!!
You will see and learn that oil was first discovered in the Middle east in BAHRAIN...a little known fact.
Before you go, just check that it is open and the daily timing.

The oil museum was closed at the time of my visit so I was only able to see the oil well. Interesting to see the first oil well in the region.

It is very informative about Oil and the history about how the oil industry started in Bahrain. You can enjoy the ride of almost 40km from Manama.

Here the first oil in the Arabic Gulf was found on-land in the years 1931 to 1932. Unfortenatuly, the Museum was closed, although it was visited on a Friday, and supposed to be open.

It does its job: tells the story of Bahrain's oil industry. It is quite far from the city, and not very big, but hey, its free to enter so no complaints.
