Masada and the Dead Sea Day Trip from Tel Aviv

741 reviews
Combine visits to the Dead Sea and Masada on this full-day trip from Tel Aviv, a great way to tick off more attractions in less time. Eliminate the hassle of car hire and travel in an air-conditioned coach instead. During at stop at Masada, your guide provides information crucial to understanding the landmark. Back at sea level, float in the salty Dead Sea, where you can book therapeutic treatments (own expense).
US$120.00 per adult

Even though this is not the real location, it is still a great place to learn about the events leading up to the Declaration of the State of Israel. The movie is very informative, all the pictures on the walls are really educational and the bonus is the rest of the historical information in the building. The models of Tel Aviv are so interesting.

We went in October 2019 while they were still improving the Dizinghoff house (where the permanent museum will be). Our visit was a bit lackluster. Its about a five minute movie, with a number of posters on the walls. If the Pachlach museum is available, I'm not sure I would go to Indepence Hall.

A little bit worn, but the content displays the history of Israel. Clearly written and nice old photos to explain what the founders had to work on.

We strongly recommend avoiding this so-called "tour" until the actual Independence Hall (Rothschild 16 Blvd) re-opens in a few years. They are currently closed for renovations and the Independence Hall "museum" in the meantime is operating from a visitors' center in the Shalom Mayer Tower at 4 Ahuzat Bait, Tel-Aviv. Five of us paid full price for a "tour" where a "guide" just showed us and talked about what was written on display boards that were in the lobby of the building that we could have easily read ourselves (it is free to enter the Shalom Mayer Tower building). We were then taken into a room where we watched a short film on what was already covered on the display boards. Save your money and time and wait until the building on Rothschild Boulevard re-opens so you can see the actual building and the room where Jewish independence was declared.
