We met Orly Ziv at the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv, just four blocks from the sparkling Mediterranean Sea! She toured us around the amazing produce market, where we learned about many different kinds of veggies and spices, rice and legumes. Orly says there are about 200 types of garbanzo beans all over the world! Some are small and some... More

It started with a tasteful and informative insight into carmel markets history and merchants: chatting, tasting, buying, eating. It continued with a low-threshold learning about israeli cuisine, recipes and cooking in a familiar surounding. We received a kitchen apron as well as a folder including the recipes of the meals we prepared. All dishes - as they are in her... More

My wife and I enjoyed a great day with Orly in early January. We had a delicious tour of the Carmel Market, stopping for tastes and great tidbits of knowledge as we went along. Then we went to Orly's apartment for a wonderful afternoon of cooking and eating. Interesting and delicious(!!!!!) recipes, cooking techniques and great conversation. What a great... More

My husband and I took one of Orly's classes in December. The day started at the Carmel market where Orly took us to all her favourite vendors and had us try all the amazing food. I could tell she knew all the best kept secrets in the market. She taught us how to pick out the best produce. We then... More

My wife and I had the pleasure of taking Orly's class in August. We met at the Carmel Market around 9AM and had a delicious Yemenite breakfast. From there we explored the market and learned many things about the offerings found there. Later we drove to Orly's lovely apartment and started to cook. We had a fabulous time and learned... More

My family: 2 grown-up sons, and my husband enjoyed a delightful day. Firstly walking around Carmel Market selecting and sampling delicious freshly baked local products and freshly squeezed juice. Then we went to Orly's flat and cooked various regional dishes together. Finally we ate a magnificent lunch with Orly's family and accompanied by some delicious Israeli Chardonnay. We learned new... Traveling to Israel with another couple, Tel Aviv was our first stop. In planning our trip, our agent highly recommended a culinary tour as an excellent introduction to the people and their food. Her strong suggestion was to enjoy a culinary tour of Tel Aviv with Orly Ziv. The plan included an approximate 3-hour sights, sounds and tasting tour of... More

As part of a pre-seminar activity I signed up for Orly's cooking tour and class. We met on a corner just outside the Tel Aviv markets and when all four were there, we commenced our tour. I have been through the markets many times, but have never seen them as we did with Orly. We had been told to come... More

The food tour and cooking class with Orly was definitely an experience of this kind. She showed us the variety of culinary cultures melting is... More
