The pedestrian mall on Ben Yehuda street was once the focus of tourist glamour and shopping. It is somewhat faded now, with other areas offering the more modern and glitzy stores.

Actually came just to see the cats - just before Shabbat. Most stores and restaurants were already closed but I found the promised feral cat population open to socializing and treats. The closed establishments looked great (as I have heard they are). Did not get back after Shabbat - maybe next visit.

since the appearance of the Jeruslem Mall in Manchat, one sees mainly tourists and youth grops on this pedestrian mall

Prices are WAY more reasonable than in the old city. Example a packet of 5 salt containers were 24 shekels whereas the same product in the old city, they were asking 240 ! Yes, it's true. Be ware of getting ripped off in the old city.

This always reminds me of Times Square in Manhattan. Lots of shops and restaurants-I believe all of them are kosher. It is a promenade-no cars. Parking is horrible in area-try paid parking behind the Lev Yerushalayim Hotel. You never know what entertainment there might be

You will not leave without the buzz of coming into contact with all things sweet, spicy and spivey! Shop till you drop for those small bits or large reminders of a wonderful trip to perhaps one of the most beautiful cities the world.

Good place to get a bite and sit and relax. Otherwise nothing interesting. Not really worth a special trip, but it's close to the central hotels.
