First, let me say this is a very nice peaceful, tranquil garden. Certainly a pleasant enough place to visit. But, is it the site of the crucifixion? Or did the crucifixion take place at the site of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, as several Christian denominations believe? Perhaps you need to visit both and make up your own mind.

Every year we ask our groups which sites in Israel impacted them the most. The top two are ALWAYS the Garden Tomb and the Sea of Galilee. The Garden Tomb is a wonderfully peaceful place. We always appreciate the guided mini-tour as well as a private spot for our group. The willingness to offer their service for free is amazing.... More

In my opinion this is the most biblically accurate location for the crucifixion, burial and resurrection of Yeshua. Entrance is free, but they rely on donations to maintain the garden. Free tours are also offered by volunteers. A short walk outside the Damascus Gate of the old city. No matter what your opinion, I would encourage you to visit this... More

As Christians it is important for us to see the real thing described in the Bible, and this tomb is the real thing! (Not the one at the Sepulchre church). Better visit there and know/see for yourself.

Peaceful environment. Good place for meditation and reflection. Unlikely to be the original garden read about in the scriptures....but who knows?

The Garden Tomb is situated in the middle of an area of Jerusalem that is a bit sketchy, and littered with trash--But once you find the entrance, you will be surprised at how serene it is. It is easy to feel that this could indeed be the place where Christ's body was laid. I liked how the pamphlets they give... More

This really was a haven outside the hustle and bustle of Old City Jerusalem. The gardens are beautiful, it's peaceful and serene. The staff members are so gentle and friendly. They are also very knowledgeable and humble. Whether or not this is the actual tomb Jesus was laid to rest in, it's a meaningful and worthwhile visit. The site is... More

We almost skipped it. I am so glad we went. What a peaceful, beautiful place! The rocky mountain beside it made my heart jump and made it very easy to imagine what the Gologota site must have looked like. I have to say that the Church of the Holy Sepulcre left me empty and dissapointed. Too much gold, too many... More

Wonderful. Everyone who visits Jerusalem should visit the garden tomb. Especially those who want a more peaceful place to reflect on Jesus' death and resurrection. The tour was excellent too.

After the hustle and bustle of Old Jerusalem, and the big crowds, this place was very special. We had a reservation for our group of 14. We were greeted by some English missionaries and given a tour of the grounds. From this site, you can see Golgotha. The garden is so well kept and preserved. Such a peaceful, beautiful feeling....
