Located in the Old City’s Muslim Quarter, this is the world’s third holiest shrine to Muslims (after the Kaaba in Mecca and the Tomb of the Propher in Medina), which signifies the spot where the Prophet Muhammad is believed to have ascended into Heaven.

The Dome of the Rock is visually dazzling, adorned with mosaics of blue and yellow (among other colors) that dominate the Temple Mount. When visiting, you should not bring bibles into the area, and women should dress modestly (although head coverings are not required). Unfortunately,...More

Holy of Holies is not under the dome of the rock but is there on the platform. It is 5 cubits square. The dome does not have to be torn down to build the 3rd temple.

This is a good site to visit once but depending on your religious viewpont whether you would want to go again. Hotly disputed site and mandatory to abide by Muslim dress code. cannot pray or take Bible's there. Islam - a dictatorship.
