Nice and quiet place

We got there by a cable car. It's nice and quiet place. They have a coffee for purchase and restrooms.

Not much to see or do. If time on the hand, nice views and gondola ride. There seemed to be a nice café for coffee..

As others have said the view from the top is good but you can't get close to the church which looks semi derelict and there really is nothing else to see at the top. Worth going up for the view though.

Of the many things to see in Haifa, this was a bit disappointing. We took the gondola up from the beach area (we reached with bus 112 from downtown Allenby St. near the Bahai gardens) - maybe there are busses direct to it but the gondola is fun and not too expensive ($6 one way, $8 return). The view is... More

We visited just the church sanctuary because the rest was closed. Very pretty cozy space though loads of tourists. There is an altar placed deep underground into a cave opening that the church was built upon. There is also a notebook where you can write a prayer request and the nuns will pray for it. There is a small souvenir... More

This area is on the north west notch of Carmel mountain called the Carmel Saddle. 3 attractions: the old lighthouse which is now a Navy base (closed) with next to it a monument of Marry donated by the Chilean Navy. The Carmelite Monastery with the little garden next to it and the new Vista Point with a cable car to... More

A great little tour of the French part of Mt. Carmel: Take a cable-car ride from the southern entrance of Haifa. It will take you up to a beautiful spot with a broad lookout angle. Cross the road to the Stella Maris monastery and learn about the history of the Carmelite sect, the story of Napoleon's armory soldiers who were... More
