Big dissapointment! It's supposed to be an interesting and sacred place for different religiouses. Nothing to show for Islam or Christianity. No english expanations only hebrew.

Site has been remodeled to look nothing like described in the Bible. Populated and shrined with candles and incense; and floors and walls remodeled with stone and mortar - not sure what to think of the commercialization of the site...

If you are following a religious tour- all three monothesitic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) all accept Elijah as a prophet

Visiting the Cave was part of a two hour tour that included seeing the Baha'i Shrine and Gardens. The Cave is nearby and doesn't take long to visit but is interesting. It is one of Israel's holiest sites. Need to dress modestly!

You feel the energy as soon as you enter, sacred place indeed! No long ques, no commercialization, just an epic religious place. A sanctuary if you like, full of devotees praying that in-itself was epic,
