The palace is actually facing the north. Located on the edge of the mountain, on two heights levels which can be seen from the distance. Outstanding views and impressive remains of mosaics, painted walls and much more. So when you visit Masada, Just go and check it out!

Rich history and incredible insight into Herod's life. The planning and incredible ahead-of-its-time accommodations are amazing.

One of the attraction of Masada National Park is this ”palace” and the views over Dead Sea. If you had time, go visit this part of Masada because worth it.

This is a must see. The ruins of Masada, the horrific history and the ancient remains are fascinating. You could spend all day here. You even have the option to walk to the top (otherwise there is a cable car ride).

Masada is amazing and I never knew about Herod's palace here. Mosaics and columns... partially in place. Like the rest of the ruins in Masada the Western Palace is beautiful and offers interesting stories for those who go with a guide.

It takes a bit of courage to climb the stairs down - they are attached to the side of the mountain so there is quite a drop on the side. It's totally worth it. And the view is amazing - the mountains on one side and the Dead Sea all the way to the horizon. And some Roman encampment ruins... More
